WELL - Cup with Handle - 2025-02-05

Welltower (WELL) formed a great cup with handle, and despite the choppy market conditions, it continued rising after breaking out of the handle area.

The stock has outperformed while most of the market sold off and plunged. If we held WELL after its breakout, we’d be up 8% on paper so far.

Given the significant market sell-off, this could have turned out to be a great trade.

However, we must note that WELL reported earnings a week after the breakout, making holding the stock risky. I typically prefer to exit before earnings to avoid unexpected volatility.
